Elders - biographies

early 1970’s and with the exception of 6 years during which I lived in Maryland, I have spent the intervening years in various areas of East Anglia.

During my 20+ years in the US Air Force I worked in both civilian and military hospitals and clinics in the field of Clinical Pathology and Personnel Management.   Since leaving the Air Force, I have been employed at one of the local nuclear power stations where I work as a chemist.
Fran and I met during an Alpha Course held in Aldeburgh Church 10 years ago and as Fran says, “God has been a big part of our relationship since then.”   The church in Aldeburgh and the local Christian community play a large part in my life.  I serve as Deputy Church Warden assisting in looking after the fabric of the church and regularly help as sides-person, verger and server.  I am a member of the PCC and am now one of a team of Elders, having recently undergone extensive training for this role.

I spend any spare time with the family, working in the garden, and reading.  Fran and I both like to travel and keep in touch with our friends and family all over the world.

My Christian faith is very important to me. During my life, I have found that God’s presence is always with me during the good and not so good times.  I believe that the church is the body of Christ, and I believe that God has added me to this local body of believers and what God is doing in and through the church is essential to my knowing how to respond to him.
