My faith has given me comfort in difficult times, the courage to tread where otherwise I might not, and the warmth of being a part of the Church family.
Susan Henderson
I was confirmed when I was twelve and through my teens went to church regularly. When I left home at 19 I stopped going to church and, although my faith didn't
waiver, I was caught up in the London lifestyle which didn't include Sunday worship. I married an American and moved to the States.
My husband was not a Christian but I loved him and believed that I could change many things. I lived and worked in Michigan for two years. My boss was a Christian and his kindness and family values were of great comfort to me so far from my family in England. I still didn't go to church and apart from my boss I had no Christian friends. I was newly married, working hard and my life was busy. We moved to California and I found a job working for one of the many computer companies in "Silicon Valley". God was waiting for me!
On my first day at this new job, sitting at my desk feeling overwhelmed by the responsibilities, lonely and hungry, a young woman stopped in front of my desk, smiled, introduced herself and placed before me a sandwich for my lunch. This person became my dearest friend. She was full of love for God and couldn't wait to tell me all about God's love for me! This was a turning point in my life. I went on to find a Church where I could worship, attend bible study and have fellowship with other Christians. Sadly, after 20 years my marriage ended and I returned to England. I met and married a wonderful Christian man and we have found great happiness together. We moved to Aldeburgh 12 years ago and were welcomed by the Church in Aldeburgh and by the community.
