Church History
1914 the new Diocese of St. Edmundsbury and Ipswich is created from the old Norwich Diocese.
1927 the south porch is stripped of ivy
1929 the Trinity Chapel is used for first time
1934 the entire roof in the nave is replaced as an exact replica of the rotten 16th century roof
1941 most windows on the south side of the church are blown out by bombs
and restored with plain glass in 1946
1950 a new Reredos is placed in the sanctuary

1952 the south porch is re-
1951 a new choir vestry is built on the north side of the church
1955 after the choir moves out, the west door becomes the new main entrance, and over four hundred years of history comes to an end as the south porch entrance becomes secondary
1970 the clergy vestry is renovated but is still small and cramped and stuffed behind the organ!
