Church History
In 1851 a new east window is installed
– and replaced by another in 1891

At the end of the 19th century the earlier destructive work of Thomas Johnson is undone to some extent as angel figures are restored to the chancel and south aisle roofs.
The 20th century produces a flurry of activity which does much to restore earlier neglect
1900 new clock in the Tower
1903 organ rebuilt and placed in north aisle
1930 organ restored
1906 new high altar table
1906 restoration of the Tower
1908 twelve candelabra – originally candles or gas – are introduced into the aisles of the church
1914 electricity is introduced into the Church
1908 the wooden lectern is replaced
1908 a new moulded chancel arch and the renovation of chancel roof

for in the glory of stained glass and tall towers the story is told afresh
