Prayers & spiritual resources

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”, says Jesus

Lord, teach us to pray

A daily thought appears on this page and soon prayers, and links to prayer and spiritual resources available elsewhere on the internet will be added.   Meanwhile here is a prayer specially composed for Aldeburgh Parish Church.

Inside the tomb lay the body,
Cold as the stone that sealed the door;
The hands and the feet bore the prints of the nails
And the beat of the heart was stilled;
But on Easter Day came the Spirit
To breathe new life and hope;
And the hands that once on the cross had been held
Moved to the beat of God’s heart;
Jesus the Saviour is risen,
Rejoice that his life is your own,
Given in place of the death that he died,
Given that you too may rise.
The power of sin is defeated
And Christ is the power supreme.
He is Risen!   Alleluia!    Amen.
