Friends of Aldeburgh Parish Church

where support for the church is expressed in practical terms

The Friends of Aldeburgh Parish Church give practical and financial support to the Church.   They take on a wide variety of projects which are things that otherwise might not be easily afforded.

Their generosity helps carry through schemes which enhance the fabric of the church and provide for its furnishings.  In recent years they have raised money for church funds by selling Christmas cards and after a relatively quiet couple of years may soon find themselves with another major project needing support.

The Friends also increasingly offer support of aspects of our ministry, for instance by helping to fund the purchase of hymn books.

Under John Paton, the Friends have been heavily involved in making new kneelers for our wide side aisles.   People from all over the world have been involved.  More are always welcome!

There is an annual Friends Lunch in November which is hugely popular.   The most recent in the midst of floods and warnings, had actor, Geoffrey Hodson, talking about and re-enacting the trial of Nurse Edith Cavell.

Twice a year the Friends produce a newsletter which contains details of how to join.   The most recent is available as a PDF which will open in a separate window.
