for Jesus welcomes the young and blesses them
We love having young children and their families as part of our church family! A dedicated team provides a good range of possibilities for children and young people to be involved and to enjoy themselves whilst at the same time taking the first steps in meeting God for themselves.
That’s part of the reason that our once monthly First Steps is called just that!
First Steps is designed for pre-school children and their Mums and since it was launched in 2005 it has proved increasingly popular. It meets on the last Wednesday of each month (there are a few exceptions so check the Calendar) from 2.15 pm until it’s time to go and pick up older siblings from the Primary School.
First Steps is a gentle and non-threatening way into church and meets in the Children’s Corner. The format is simple – activities for the children to do, a brief talk or story, a song, a visit to go and see Samson and the mediaeval dog, a prayer, a drink for the children and a cup of tea for the Mums (by the way, Dads are welcome too!) and then off home. In the summer we have a picnic – labelled by Ethan the Teddy Bears and Monkeys Picnic (he brings his favourite monkey!). To find out more email firststeps@aldeburghparishchurch.org.uk
