Other special  services

Our full list of services for this month is available as a PDF by following this link which will open in a separate window.

Here are the highlights of the Christmas season.

During the year we have a number of services, apart from those at Christian Festival times, where the focus is on particular life-events or which reflect the fact that we live by the sea.    Here is a quick run-down of some of them and the times of year at which you will find them appearing in our monthly calendar.

February       Fishermen & Seafarers service, when the church is decorated by our local Lifeboat crew, usually on the third Sunday.

May                Civic Service, following the election to office of the Mayor

June              Festival Service, which opens the Aldeburgh Festival

August          Carnival Songs of Praise, during Aldeburgh’s Carnival Weekend

December    Christingle, a popular service specially for children, usually on the first Tuesday of December

and in addition to the above in 2007 we had

October        Remembering the Loved, a service at the beginning of the church’s season of remembrance marking the lives of those we love but who have died

In 2008  we intend to introduce a Service of Health and Healing at St. Luke’s-tide in October

December we have planned a service which is a Celebration of Community

We may also introduce services celebrating marriage and baptism
